Career Exploration Camp

Service Description

This online camp is designed for youth whom are seeking to discover what a career is and how to choose theirs powerfully. We also focus on how to develop goals with direction of career in mind. This camp is open to youth ages 14 - 18 years old. Camp runs every Wednesday starting August 12th to September 2nd. Week 1 - Week one our Career Explorers will have an introduction to our online camp, who we are and our group norms and expectations. We will dive into the world of Careers by brainstorming what a Career is and defining it. We also cover how our Values, Beliefs and Attitudes can support us in finding a future career. We also begin the brainstorming process by using the The Motives specialized brain stormer. Week 2 - Week two our Career explorers will start to dive into what career fields are out there. We will also identify traditional and non - traditional pathways to achieving a successful career. Week 3 - We tend to find this week the most exciting. During this session we cover choices vs decisions and what the difference is. We also focus on how to make the most powerful choice possible for big life opportunities like one’s career. We highlight and share what tools and resources are out there to help identify which careers would be a good fit for our explorers. Week 4 - The Motive and Explorers will cover next steps and how to approach a powerful choice in career with powerful goal setting and decision making. We cover how to set goals and how to overcome breakdowns to cause breakthroughs. This is also our day of acknowledgement and celebration for our time together.
